How You Can Have A Year Round Capsule Makeup Routine

Makeup is a great way to enhance your natural features and boost your confidence. However, with the constantly changing seasons and trends, it can be overwhelming to keep up with a new makeup routine every few months. That’s where a year round capsule routine comes in. By choosing versatile and compact makeup products, you can create a simple yet effective routine that will last you throughout the year. Say goodbye to cluttered makeup drawers and hello to a stress-free makeup routine!

Understanding the Concept of a Capsule Makeup Routine

The goal of a capsule makeup routine is to streamline your beauty routine and reduce clutter, while still allowing you to achieve a polished and put-together look. By choosing products that are multi-functional and adaptable to different styles and seasons, you can simplify your morning routine and save time and energy. With a capsule makeup routine, you can say goodbye to the overwhelming task of keeping up with the latest makeup trends and hello to a more stress-free and sustainable beauty routine.

At the heart of the capsule makeup routine lies the principle of selectivity, focusing on quality and utility over quantity. This approach emphasizes the importance of choosing versatile products that serve multiple functions, thereby minimizing the clutter in your makeup collection. Central to this concept is the preference for cream-based products, which often offer a level of versatility and blendability that powders cannot match. Cream makeup products, such as blushes, highlighters, and eyeshadows, can easily be mixed to create custom colors, used in a sheer application for a natural look, or built up for more drama. This adaptability makes them perfect for a capsule collection, as a single product can meet various needs. The adoption of cream products within a capsule makeup routine also simplifies the application process, as they can be applied and blended with a double sided brush, eliminating the need for multiple brushes. This streamlined selection process and the emphasis on multi-use, cream-based products underpin the simplicity and efficiency that define a capsule makeup routine, allowing for a more personal and conscious approach to beauty that caters to individual lifestyles and preferences.

Steps To Applying This Cream Makeup

Step 1: Contour – apply around cheekbones, forehead, sides of nose

Step 2: Color correcting shade (if needed) I typically suggest this for my women over 30 who have more pigmentation and uneven skin. Apply this shade where more coverage is needed – under eyes, redness, etc. you may need less or more.

Step 3: Main foundation shade – apply everywhere else the contour is not

Step 4: Brightening shade – apply to inner + outer corners of the eyes

Step 5: Blush – I like to do a matte up closer to the temples and a gloss on the apples

Step 6: Blend it together. Blend the lightest colors first and darkest last (I typically recommend blending as you go and applying with brushes – but this is great if you’re in a rush!)

Finishing touches: lips/eyes/Illuminator
